We all use power in our homes and whilst it is important to try to reduce the amount of power we need it is still impossible to get away from the fact that we do various activities on a daily basis that use power. Whilst nobody is suggesting that we stop consuming all power and go back to the dark ages, the fact of the matter is energy providers in the UK have obligates to create Green Energy for consumers. Green Energy can come from a variety of sources and is generally classed under different guises from low-emitting energy sources, or from energy that does not produce any pollution, such as solar, wine and wave energy.

Obviously no energy source is completely free from any environmental impact, but certainly some energy is better than others. There are also ‘tricky’ issues to contend with when justifying Green Energy as a viable business model, as Carbon Offsetting and Nuclear Power can unfortunately come into the equation. Nether the less by signing up to a Green Energy provider as a consumer you are telling the company that you are willing to support Green Energy initiatives. By doing so companies in turn will devote more effort into producing Green Energy, ultimately benefiting the environment and the consumer.
